The Kingdom of Mitanni existed in Southeast Anatolia between 1500 BC and 1240 BC It stretched all the way from modern day Turkey to parts of Syria and Northern Iraq. The people of Mitanni were acclaimed charioteers and horsemen. Kikkuli, a "master horse trainer of the land of Mitanni '' wrote what's considered the world's first ever horse training manual on a clay tablet. Ancient city-state Alalakh in Hatay province offered both textual and material evidence regarding the enigmatic nature of Mitanni. However most of their major settlements are still waiting to be unearthed.
